Nebraska football: The 10 Best Plays in Husker History
Mike Rozier has the longest two-run yard in Nebraska football history
The 1983 Nebraska football team was one of the best in the history of the Cornhusker program. The team almost gave head coach Tom Osborne his first national title a decade before he finally got it.
At the heart of that team was Heisman winning running back Mike Rozier. Rozier ran over, around and through defenses all year long.

That was especially evidenced in an early season game against UCLA. The Huskers won that game 42-10. It was another in a long line of blowout wins that year.
What made this game and Mike Rozier’s play in that game so special was the run he had to score one of his touchdowns.
We talked earlier about Bobby Reynolds’ run in the 1950s. It seems that this was a kind of unintentional homage as Rozier reversed field several times in order to get to the end zone.
People who saw the play in real time said he likely had to run 60 yards to get those two and the score. It’s likely that run and runs like it are why Rozier was able to cement himself as someone who deserved the Heisman.
