Nebraska football wide receivers coach Troy Walters got a look at a list of the best receiver corps in the game and didn’t like that his squad wasn’t on it.

Despite having some big-time talent on its roster, the Nebraska football team’s wide receiver corps was left off a list of the best receiver groups in the country.

Heading into the season, the page CFBNow put out a list of the Top 15 WR/TE units. The Cornhuskers didn’t appear on that list,

While a group that returns Stanley Morgan Jr and JD Spielman should be considered to at least contend for the best in the country, it appears they are being overlooked by some.

The list itself, was not overlooked by the man who is tasked with making the Huskers’ receivers better. Wide receivers coach Troy Walters got ahold of that list, showed it to his players and said simply “ya’ll see this?”

Stanley Morgan was among the first to respond and the rest of the crew followed suit by mostly laughing at being left out. Morgan responded with “they funny” as well as the laughing emoji.

It is a bit funny that Ole Miss, West Virginia, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina State, Clemson, Toledo, Ohio State, Missouri, Baylor, Miami, Georgia, Arizona State and Louisville all made the list and the Cornhuskers did not.

Certainly, that’s a good list. There is some of the best teams in the country on that list.

JD Spielman and Stanley Morgan alone should make the Huskers corps among that list. Then you talk about guys like Jaron Woodyard, Mike Williams, Tyjon Lindsey, Jaevon McQuitty, and Justin McGriff and you start to wonder what the criteria was for the ranking.

CFBNow made it clear that last year’s stats were not the end all and be all. There may not be a group with as much raw talent as the Cornhuskers.

Justin McGriff certainly agreed when he said they were going to “change that.” Lindsey’s reaction was more cool confidence saying, “it’s cool … they’ll see in due time.”

The confidence that the entirety of the Nebraska football wide receivers’ reacted with has to make Husker fans excited. We will see what this group can do, and we’ll sooner rather than later.
