The Nebraska football team is the latest squad to go after one of the hottest defensive commodities in the 2020 class in linebacker Stephen Dix Jr.
The Nebraska football team under Scott Frost has been on a bit of a run when it comes to recruiting. The program has picked up several commits over the last few days, though most of those came for the 2019 class.
The 2020 class is looking mighty paltry in comparison. The Huskers are trying to change that with a spate of new offers going out over the last few days.
Included in those offers is one to outside linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. Dix is one of the most sought-after linebackers in the 2020 class.

In addition to the Cornhuskers, Dix has gotten offers from 14 schools already. That’s pretty impressive considering he won’t be able to sign with anyone for another year and a half at the least.

The good news is that when it comes to competing with other Big Ten teams, there’s only one conference rival in the mix so far. The bad news is that the team the Cornhuskers are going head to head against for Dixs’ services is Ohio State.
The Buckeyes aren’t the only big-time program that’s in after the linebacker that is currently considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports. Clemson, Tennessee and Florida have all offered as well.
While Dix does appear to be legitimately excited about his scholarship offer from the Nebraska football team, it’s going to be a long while before the Cornhuskers have any idea if he might be leaning towards setting up residence in Lincoln.
