Nebraska football continues to make inroads in the Garden State.

One month ago, almost to the day, the Nebraska football team made the cut for one of New Jersey’s best running backs. On Saturday, the Cornhuskers made the list of yet another great Garden State back in Josh Henderson.

The last time the Huskers were in this situation, they added another commit in the form of Rahmir Johnson. Being in the top six for Henderson means that Nebraska is at least within shouting distance of adding another back to the stable.

Henderson released his top six on Twitter and that list has a very Big Ten type of feel to it. Alongside the Huskers, Henderson picked Rutgers, Minnesota, Michigan State, Maryland and North Carolina.

Yes, only the Tar Heels are among the top list that is outside the Big Ten. That guarantees a rather interesting recruiting fight from here on out.

Perhaps most interesting is that 247Sports believes he’s headed to the only team on his list not in the B1G. That website has the crystal balls pointing to North Carolina.

That doesn’t mean that he’s anywhere near a sure thing for the ACC. At this point, you really can’t count out the Huskers when it comes to going after running backs in New Jersey.

Scott Frost and his staff are clearly looking to set up pipelines in conference states. It would be a mistake to assume they can’t close the deal with Henderson. It might even be an added bonus that they already have one commit from the Garden State in the 2019 class.

According to 247Sports, Henderson is the ninth-ranked player in the state of New Jersey. He’s the 28th ranked running back in the entire state.

The Nebraska football team making the top six is quite a feat when you talk about the fact that he has 21 total offers. Now the Cornhuskers just have to make the final push.
