Malcolm Lee doesn’t have an offer from the Nebraska football team just yet, but it feels like that may be coming at some point. Lee played his high school ball at Bellevue West and decided to head to Iowa Western in order to increase his chances of FBS programs getting interested.

It turns out FBS programs are indeed becoming interested. Earlier this month, Lee got his first Power 5 offer in Louisville. He also got an offer to play at the up and coming Florida Atlantic program run by Lane Kiffin.

Lee has taken in the Cornhuskers a couple of times already this year. It seems likely that should Scott Frost come calling, Lee would listen.

In his first season with the Rievers, the Omaha-area product had 43 tackles and five sacks. He was basically a deadly bookend combination with Graves.

The coaching staff have clearly taken notice, though he might just be a casualty of the new staff being interested in JUCO prospects but not wanting to go after them to the point where their roster is overloaded.

It’s kind of known that Junior College prospects are going to have the inside shot at winning a starting job. That can be a positive and a negative when you’re looking at recruiting the high school ranks.

It seems like the Nebraska football team is looking more to make sure when they go after someone like Malcolm Lee, they have a roster spot ready for him. That might not be a given with their other efforts.
