Nebraska football recruiting: New offers, Jordan Johnson gets more attention
Speaking of 19 offers, Jamel Sparks can count the Nebraska football scholarship offer as his 19th of the recruiting cycle.
Sparks is a bit of an under the radar recruit out of Georgia who can play both safety and running back. So far the recruiting services aren’t quite sure where to put him in the rankings and they’ve listed him as an athlete.
For the most part, lower tier FBS or even FCS schools make up the bulk of Starks’ offers, though it does look like he’s getting more attention from Power 5 schools. The Cornhuskers offered on Monday morning.
North Carolina State offered the same day. East Carolina offered about a week before.
The good news is this appears to be one of those speedy diamond in the rough type players the Huskers have made a habit of looking at as someone that they’ll look for a spot on the field after he’s on campus.
At the moment, as long as Starks is willing to leave his home region, it would seem as though the Huskers would have to be a front-runner. Interestingly enough, it seems as though the staff has had their eye on him for a while.
UCF is one of the other squads that gave Jamel Starks an offer early on. The Nebraska football staff absolutely loves recruiting the state of Georgia and has had good success getting players’ attention from that area.
