The Nebraska football team has been traveling untrod ground of late.
Nebraska football is looking high and low for players that match the Huskers’ scheme. This week, that has meant that the Cornhuskers’ coaching staff has been offering some players that haven’t caught a ton of attention from other B1G teams just yet.
On Wednesday evening, those players included Oklahoma linebacker Zach Marsheselli. The 3-star player out of Broken Arrow received an offer from Nebraska and that offer is the first time a Big Ten team has really started recruiting him.
Teams from the Huskers’ conference haven’t been going after Marcheselli much, but it doesn’t appear that’s because he’s not talented enough. The prospect is the eighth best player in the entire state of Oklahoma, and the 46th ranked OLB in the 2019 class.
Extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Nebraska!! @CoachRHeld pic.twitter.com/FhQ2OiKrxG

Not only is Nebraska the first Big Ten team to offer the linebacker, the Huskers are only the second Power Five squad willing to give him a scholarship at this point.

The Broken Arrow prospect has been flying under the radar in the early part of the 2019 recruiting cycle. Texas Tech is the only other Power Five team to have offered.
It’s likely because of this that the Red Raiders had been rated as a lock to land him. The other teams in on the linebacker so far are North Texas, Tulsa, and Eastern Michigan.
That seems like a bit of a surprise since this is a 3-star prospect that is among the best in Oklahoma. The fact that he is among the best in the state means that he’s likely to gain some attention as the spring and summer rolls on.
The same can be said for another prospect the Cornhuskers recently offered. The Nebraska football team became the first Big Ten team to offer offensive lineman Taylor Miterko just yesterday.
