The Nebraska football team has continued its pursuit of Georgia athletes with the latest scholarship offer. Warren Burrell is a 3-star corner.

The Nebraska football team is continuing its assault on the state of Georgia. The Cornhuskers offered yet another player from the Peach State over the weekend.

Warren Burrell is a 3-star cornerback from Georgia who has already been getting some looks from the big boys of college football. Despite being just a 3-star prospect, he’s got 24 offers already, with the Huskers being the 24th.

Among the teams that are going after Burrell is Alabama. That means the Cornhuskers are going to have their work cut out for them. 247Sports also has Georgia being the odds on favorite for the cornerback.

The offer continues to be part of a grand plan that has to do with Georgia. The staff has offered players from that state more than any other.

The Huskers haven’t been picky about the position in which they recruit players from Georgia. If they managed to get a majority of those offers to commit, the 2019 roster would be chock full of players from that state.

While some of the preference for the region comes from the coaching staff spending time at UCF, the sheer number of targets from the state is quite interesting when you look at it from the long view.

The Nebraska football team just hosted a Junior Day that seemed to go off without a hitch. Now the coaching staff can turn all of its attention to a 2019 class that has plenty of big targets but few commitments.

While the plans for Warren Burrell aren’t known yet, the Cornhuskers have their feet in the door. Getting an official visit to Lincoln would be a big step in the right direction.
