The Nebraska football team is going to be hosting one of the best defensive ends in the 2019 class next weekend for its Junior Day.

The recruiting efforts by Nebraska football’s new staff haven’t gotten a ton of commits in the 2019 class but their efforts appear to be reaping benefits.

The latest benefit is the confirmation by a player’s father that he will be visiting Lincoln later this month. In fact, Marcus Hicks is going to be coming to Lincoln for the Cornhuskers’ Junior Day next week.

That day will take place on Saturday, March 31 and the Huskers are now going to be hosting one of the best defensive ends in the 2019 class among others. Getting Hicks to town is certainly going to help the team climb an awfully big hill.

Marcus Hicks, according to 247Sports is a 4-star defensive end who boasts 20 different offers. The Cornhuskers are going to be hard-pressed to set themselves apart from that crowd.

Getting Hicks onto campus is certainly a step in the right direction. They still need to overcome what appears to be a lean toward Oklahoma if they want to get him.

They should really want to get him. Hicks is the best player in the state of Kansas and the 15th best defensive end in the entire class.

In addition to Oklahoma and Nebraska, Hicks is being chased by Michigan, Ohio State, and Oregon among others. It doesn’t look as though the star prospect is going to be picking his team anytime soon.

The visit to Lincoln will be at least the third visit to a Big Ten school this month. Earlier in March, Hicks has visited both Michigan and Ohio State.

Marcus’ Hicks visit to Lincoln to see the Nebraska football team is just one of what is going to be a very full weekend of top prospects. Here’s hoping the coaching staff can cash in with a few commits.
