The Nebraska football team’s Spring Game on April 21 has been named among the most “must see” spring games of the college football world.

The Spring Game for the Nebraska football program sold out in less than a day. There is plenty excitement in Lincoln for this annual event.

What might surprise some is that what is a souped-up scrimmage is drawing some serious national attention. The Cornhuskers are far from the only school that will be staging its Spring Game in the next few weeks and Athlon is taking a look at the teams College Football fans should be taking note of.

Out of a list of 10, the publication has ranked the Huskers as the second highest “must-see” Spring Game. Of the group, only Alabama has managed to garner a higher rating.

Alabama has their Spring Game on April 21 (yes the same day as the Cornhuskers) and there is going to be quite a bit of interest in seeing who looks like they might be winning the starting job.

Most think Jalen Hurts is the official backup, but Nick Saban hasn’t said anything of the kind. There are also new coaches for Tide fans to scrutinize.

While ‘Bama fans might be plenty excited to see their defending national champion take the field, the Huskers are getting attention for a whole other reason. Following the worst season in Lincoln in decades, Scott Frost and his staff are bent on turning it around.

Just what the national coach of the year, and his boys can do this season is going to be something the whole nation wants to see. A brand new offense is going to draw attention as well.

As Athlon puts it, “The game itself will show there’s work to be done, but Frost’s dynamic presence, coupled with a sellout crowd, will draw a lot of attention. Big Red is on the way back.”

It seems likely that fans of more than just the Nebraska football program are going to be tuning in. It will be broadcast live on BTN so quite a bit of the country will be able to watch.
