The Nebraska football team and the Big Ten played a big part in Sporting News’ recent 2018 predictions.

While the 2018 Nebraska football season is still really, really, really far away, it’s never too early to start thinking about what might happen.

It appears Sporting news is in complete agreement with this assertion, as they released their 2018 early predictions post that takes aim at the biggest supposed stories in college football next year.

While the Big Ten might be getting maligned on a near daily basis in basketball, the Sporting News, at the very least appears to think the conference is going to play a big role in the national conversation next season.

In a grouping of 18 early predictions, the Big Ten was front and center in about a third of them. If not the conference as a whole, then certainly people and places that are located inside the conference.

Perhaps best of all is that most of the stories the website chose to focus on are largely positive. It seems as though it might be a very good year for the Cornhuskers (relatively) and the Big Ten in general.

It should be pointed out that these predictions are being made before anyone has even started their spring practices. That means a lot could change based on position battles, injuries or just your usual attrition between the spring and the fall.

Check out what we think of their early season predictions, let us know if you agree, or just read along with us as we take in what are some pretty strong assertions in this latest piece.
