Nebraska football in-state target Nick Henrich continues to rack up Power 5 offers.

The Nebraska football team’s fight for in-state target Nick Henrich just got a bit harder. The Omaha Burke player got yet another offer from a Power 5 school.

This time, Henrich has gotten an offer from an old Cornhuskers rival in the Missouri Tigers. The fight to keep this Burke player in Nebraska was always going to be hard, but it’s interesting to watch Power 5 programs that border the Huskers come in and try and steal a talented player.

When Scott Frost first arrived in Lincoln, he made it clear players like Henrich were going to be getting a larger focus from his staff. Nebraska generally has two or three players that Power 5 schools pay attention to.

The fact that Henrich has gotten offers from Missouri, Notre Dame, Penn State and so many others is both good and bad news for Husker fans. These are the recruiting battles Frost must win.

They are the recruiting battles that can help him sell the program and sell the turnaround. They are also the recruiting battles that can put quite a bit of egg on his face if he loses.

When you’re talking about a player that has gotten offers from Florida and Texas A&M you are talking about a kid that can go anywhere in the country he wants. The draw to leave the state is going to be a big one.

Frost and his staff are just going to have to make sure they sell him how important his commitment would be. The Nebraska football team needs to sew Nick Henrich up in the coming months. The state doesn’t normally see the kind of recruiting battle that’s going on with this player.
