The Nebraska football team is making the defensive line a focus for their 2019 recruiting class. Stephon Wright is the latest defensive end to get an offer.

If there is one thing the 2018 recruiting class was missing, it was defensive linemen. The Nebraska football team is attempting to fix that in the 2019 class.

Stephon Wright is the latest defensive end that has been offered by the Huskers. This one is especially talented, being rated as a 4-star defensive end out of Los Angeles, California.

Wright announced he had received an offer, and it appears wide receivers’ coach Troy Walters is the man who gave him that scholarship offer. The Cornhuskers are far from the only school to be trying to get Wright to at least come to Lincoln for a visit.

Being out of LA, it should come as no surprise that most of the offers for the defensive end are coming out of the Pac 12. For now, 247Sports has him rated as a lock to head to USC.

The good news for Husker fans is that Scott Frost and company have gone after plenty of players that were being sought after by the big schools. It appears that in that regard, the Huskers are following in the footsteps of Mike Riley.

It continues to be a departure from what we saw when Bo Pelini was here. Pelini tended to temper his expectations by going after players other teams weren’t recruiting.

Riley and his staff were often pursuing the best of the best. Frost and his crew appear to be doing the same. The Nebraska football team has said it will not look at stars, but will instead go after players that fit their system. Still, talented linebackers like Owen Pappoe are among those that can be included on the list with Stephon Wright as being the best of the class.
