Nebraska football: Top rated 2019 linebacker sets Husker visit
The top rated linebacker in the 2019 class, Owen Pappoe has announced he will be officially visiting the Nebraska football team in the fall.
The Nebraska football team has long had the eye of the top linebacker in the 2019 class according to 247Sports. Now Owen Pappoe has made it official that he will be visiting Lincoln come fall.
According to the site, not only is he the top linebacker in the class, but he’s the 3rd overall player in the state of Georgia and the 15th ranked player in the entire class. What is interesting is that Pappoe had originally struck up a relationship with the old staff.
As Land of 10 points out, it was former defensive line coach John Parrella that was recruiting Pappoe and the Huskers were eventually named among his three favorites on October 31.
Clemson and Georgia are the other two teams, so the Cornhuskers definitely have their work cut out for them. Not surprisingly, Scott Frost and company have stayed plenty active in trying to recruit Pappoe and that has paid off, as he’s kept the Huskers close to his heart.

The big bugaboo here is obviously that not only is Nebraska going after such a highly ranked player, but they seem to have a legit chance to get him. Timing for his visit might be everything.
Four of Nebraska’s seven home games are early in the year. Frost and company will have to weigh whether they want to get him in early and then have the rest of the season to push hard, or whether they’d like to be one of the last schools he sees.
While Owen Pappoe did officially narrow down his choices in October, that doesn’t mean a dark horse can’t emerge as well. He took a visit to Tennessee in January. The Nebraska football staff is just going to have to work overtime to keep them in the linebacker’s sights.
