The Nebraska football team can count Texas A&M among the teams it is going to have to fight off if it wants to get one of the best players in the state.
There are few players in the state that are getting as much attention as Nebraska football target Nick Henrich. The Omaha Burke outside linebacker has been racking up the offers over the last few months.
On Monday night, Henrich announced that Texas A&M was the latest Power 5 school to come calling. The offer from the Aggies means the Nebraska born and bred player has a total of 15 offers with all but two coming from Power 5 conference schools.
When new head coach Scott Frost came to Lincoln, he made it a priority to keep the talented in-state players in Nebraska. It’s not known whether he understood just how many good young kids from the Omaha area were going to be a member of the 2019 recruiting class.

Frost’s arrival seems to have almost spurred on the rest of the college football world to take a second look at what Nebraska high schools have to offer. While Henrich is just a three-star player according to Rivals, it seems likely that is going to get a boost in the not too distant future.
The question now becomes, when will Henrich start pairing down his schools. So far, he hasn’t taken any official visits but it seems more than likely the Huskers would be among the top contenders.
Unlike the Mike Riley era, Frost and his staff have been working extra hard to make sure the best kids in the state know they are wanted. Still, the Nebraska football team is going to have an uphill climb. When this many schools come calling, it’s only natural to wonder what life might be like outside the state.
