Nebraska football: Huskers could still be adding one to 2018 class

Don’t close the books on Nebraska football’s 2018 class just yet.

The Nebraska football coaches are acting as though they’re done with the 2018 class. If one more recruit comes calling, could they take an additional body?

While National Signing Day was a resounding success on Wednesday, there was one player the Huskers were looking at that didn’t sign with Nebraska. In fact, he didn’t sign with anyone.

Jalan Robinson, an offensive lineman from Kansas announced late on Wednesday he was going to take a few more days before he made a decision. The lineman said the main reason for this because he started getting more heavily recruited towards the end of the cycle.

It was just a few weeks before signing day that schools like the Cornhuskers and Mississippi State decided they wanted Robinson to join the fold. It makes sense the three-star player would want a bit more time to think things over.

Kansas came into the game really late, offering on Tuesday. It appears there are still more schools that are wanting him to come take a look as well.

Robinson told KUSports.com that he’ll be making a final decision “in a couple of weeks.” In the meantime, he might even be making a visit to see Oklahoma.

Before the attention became too much for him to make a decision on Signing Day, Robinson had said he was looking at going to Butler Community College. The big question here is whether or not grades are going to play a part.

Robinson has said he remains in contact with the community college, which seems to indicate there’s still a chance he’ll end up there. It seems odd that he would still be looking at that school if he knew he could qualify for an FBS school.

For now, the Nebraska football team, and other schools in on Jalan Robinson will have to play the waiting game.
