Nebraska football: Tanner Lee’s pro prospects take a hit in Senior Bowl
Nebraska football quarterback Tanner Lee had a chance to show what he could do as a quarterback at the next level in the Senior Bowl. It didn’t go well.
Some might say that Nebraska football quarterback Tanner Lee had the most Tanner Lee performance he could have at Saturday’s Senior Bowl. Unfortunately, that is not a good thing.
The signal caller, who waited a year to take the helm for the Cornhuskers capped a dissapointing season with a disappointing performance in that Senior Bowl.
Now, the performance doesn’t hurt the Huskers. It does likely hurt Lee’s prospects for an NFL career.

During practices leading up to the game, scouts were saying many of the same things we heard in the fall of 2017. Lee has the arm that makes people drool.
He has good touch and he has good strength. The decision making has always been the issue.
Lee has also had some problems completing passes whenever he’s pressured. Everything that has gone wrong this season for the quarterback showed up again in the Senior Bowl.
Spelling Josh Allen from time to time, Lee didn’t help the North team much. In total, the former Husker completed just 8 of 19 passes for 86 yards and an interception.
It doesn’t help that Allen had a pretty good game, completing 9 of 13 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Baker Mayfield saw limited action for the north, completing just 3 of 7 passes for nine yards.
No one from the North squad had a particularly impressive day. That’s why they lost 45-16.
That’s cold comfort for the former Cornhusker who was hoping to shine in one final college football game. Lee, who declared for the draft following his junior season and a coaching change will still get to try out for the NFL combine.
It’s possible he could put together a performance that would boost his stock once again. For now, it appears the Nebraska football product has seen his stock take a hit.
