The Nebraska football team is aiming high with its latest offer to 2019 defensive back Erick Young.

The Nebraska football program is looking to get the best of the best when it comes to recruiting. Scott Frost and company proved this with their recent offer to defensive back Erick Young.

Young is not only one of the best defensive players in the state of Texas, he’s one of the best players in the 2019 class.

According to Rivals, Young is the 22nd best player in Texas and the 14th best defensive back in the entire class. He’s also the 178th best player in the 2019 class.

While 247 Sports doesn’t see Young as quite the prospect Rivals does, they also have him as a four-star and among the best in 2019. 247 has the corner as the 20th best CB in the country and the 28th best player in Texas.

Considering how highly sought after Young is, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that some of the biggest of the big schools are after him.

On the same day that the Huskers offered him, Oklahoma also asked him to become a member of their program. He’s also got offers from Georgia, Florida State and Ohio State.

LSU and Texas A&M are also on board with the four-star player. At the moment, it appears the defensive back is a lean towards A&M but that was before either the Sooners or the Cornhuskers had made their presence known.

The offer is just the latest one to a top tier Texas player. Scott Frost and company appear to hit sections of the country at a time. Just yesterday, the team offered one of the best wide receivers in the 2019 class in Texas.

Unsurprisingly, we don’t have any idea on when Erick Young plans to announce anything. That includes not knowing when or if he might be visiting the Nebraska football program.
