Nebraska basketball is blessed to not have too many bad losses.

While the Nebraska basketball team doesn’t have a ton of big wins, resume-wise, they also don’t have too many bad setbacks. The two big, bad losses the team accrued were also early enough in the season they can be dismissed.

The most glaring bad loss for the Huskers has to be a 23-point loss to St. Johns. The Johnnies looked like they might be a team that could make some noise this year.

It turns out that while they’re better than last year, they’re pretty mediocre. That game was a weird one for the Huskers as they just didn’t look like they showed up to play.

The second big loss that could haunt the Cornhuskers is a nine-point loss to Central Florida.

Like the Red Storm, this defeat was not a glaringly bad one, but it was a game Nebraska should have won.

The Knights are currently 12-6 and 3-3 on the season. They’re probably an NIT team. A win could have even gone down as a decent win. A loss is a bad loss.

Perhaps the worst loss on the resume right now is a 76-74 loss to Penn State.

It doesn’t appear as though the Nittany Lions are going dancing.

Even worse, the Nebraska basketball team played poorly, rallied, took it to overtime and gave a game away.

Losses to inferior opponents at this point in the season is costly.

This is why the team cannot afford any more bad losses. While 20 victories likely gets the Nebraska basketball team into the tourney, they need to have a good resume to point to as well.
