Nebraska football going after a big time offensive lineman in Tyrone Sampson

Nebraska football offensive line coach Greg Austin was in Michigan on Monday, attempting to steal big bodied Tyrone Sampson out from under other Big Ten teams’ noses.

Oddly enough, the four-star center doesn’t have an offer from Michigan State or Michigan. That’s despite the fact that Rivals has him listed as the fifth best player in the entire state and the fourth best center in the class.

I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s safe to say that if a Nebraska kid was the fourth best center in a class, the Huskers would have offered him right away.

The center does have offers from Power 5 schools like Minnesota, Ole Miss and Louisville. While he got a visit on Monday from Greg Austin, he’s planning to visit Lincoln on February 2nd.

Before he does come see Nebraska in all its glory, he’ll take a visit to Ole Miss on January 26. He’s also paid a visit to Syracuse in December.

The offensive line has been a big problem for the Huskers in the last few years. Getting a center that is already weighing in at 6-3 and 304 pounds would be quite the steal for the Nebraska football team.
