The new Nebraska football head coach got another endorsement from a legendary name.

Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost seems like a perfect fit for most Husker fans. He seems like a perfect fit for people outside the program too.

Earlier this week, at the Outland Trophy Award Dinner former Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden was in attendance. His appearance prompted a question about how he felt about Scott Frost being named the Huskers coach.

Bowden, who coached against former Cornhuskers coach Tom Osborne, and struck up a friendship with Osborne, has a unique point of view. Florida State and Nebraska were the powers of the football world in the 1990s.

There was mutual admiration from both coaches. Bowden even became a bit of a surrogate coach figure for some Husker fans after Osborne retired.

Now back in Omaha for a night, Bowden made it clear he likes the hire of Scott Frost. Bowden said he felt Frost was the “perfect fit for Nebraska.”

Bowden added that playing for Tom was a big strike in favor of Frost. He also said he knows that Frost is going to give everything he has to the Huskers.

Perhaps the best endorsement of Frost’s ability as a coach was when Bowden cited his ability to communicate and get his boys to respond.

Most Husker fans have already seen the relationships Frost has forged with his players.

There was a level of loyalty to his team and from his team at UCF you just don’t see that often. Bowden is right that given those traits, Scott Frost is likely going to be alright at Nebraska.
