Nebraska football makes top 4 of vaunted running back
The Nebraska football team has officially made the top 4 schools for running back Ta’Zhawn Henry. The Houston back announced his list Sunday night.
The Nebraska football team has been working overtime when it comes to getting the attention of some of the more talented players in the 2018 class. One of those players, Ta’Zhawn Henry received an offer from the school right around Christmas.
On Sunday night, the Houston-based running back announced he had cut the list of schools he was considering down to four. The Cornhuskers were among those schools that made the cut.
Along with Nebraska, Henry announced he’s still considering Oregon State, Utah and Texas Tech. Perhaps the oddest thing about the list is how often the Huskers are now finding themselves competing with Oregon State.

The Beavers have a different head coach, but the assistants on the staff have a distinct Nebraska feel to them. Former Huskers linebacker coach Mike Bray is on staff with OSU, as is former head coach Mike Riley.
Riley is currently serving as the assistant head coach. It’s no doubt he had quite a bit to say about an offer doled out earlier this weekend to Isaac Gifford. Gifford is the brother of current Husker Luke Gifford and is a member of the 2020 class.
Despite being located in Lincoln, Oregon State was the first to offer the Southeast High player a scholarship, getting a bit of a drop on Scott Frost and company. It’s a safe bet Frost would like to repay the favor by winning the services of Henry.
The coaching staff, now fully and completely invested in Nebraska, will have a chance to make their biggest sales pitch. Henry will be in Lincoln this coming weekend.
He’ll be accompanied by quite a few of the top Husker targets. Camron Jones and Mike Williams have both confirmed they’ll be among the group that will be in town.
It seems unlikely Ta’Zhawn Henry will commit to the Nebraska football team this weekend, but it seems likely the Huskers will pull a few. Henry seeing those dominos fall can only help.
