Nebraska football: Trey Sanders a realistic Huskers target?
Trey Sanders announced he was no longer committed to Alabama on Tuesday. Could the Nebraska football team find a way to get its foot in the door?
The Nebraska football team and its new staff have quite a bit of momentum. Scott Frost and company are coming off a 13-0 season that included a Peach Bowl win over an Auburn team that was arguably the best team in the SEC.
While the Huskers were nowhere near the radar of Sanders before this month, could 2018 deliver a miracle. The five-star running back is not only the best player in the state of Florida, he’s the number two back in the 2018 class.
He’s the 12th best player overall. It’s no wonder Sanders was quite the get for Nick Saban and company.

Sanders announced on his official Twitter account that he was going to be a free-agent again. He did add that Alabama would remain his favorite.
The interesting thing about this development is that it was one day after the Crimson Tide had secured a spot in the National Title game. One has to wonder what changed in the last 24 hours.
It’s unlikely that UCF’s win over Auburn was so impressive that Sanders decided he wanted to give Frost’s staff a look. On the other hand, he’s from Bradenton, Florida.
It’s possible the running back has been following the Knights’ season. Even if that isn’t the case, the Huskers need to find a way to try and get on the list of possible schools.
The game has changed now that Frost and his group are here. While the targets they’ve been going after haven’t quite been the caliber of Trey Sanders, or the most part, the Nebraska football team has quite a bit of positive momentum thanks to its staff winning the Peach Bowl.
