The Nebraska football team might still be working on the 2018 recruiting class, they are also turning their attention to the 2019 class.
The Nebraska football staff is making sure that 2018 isn’t the only year they are focusing on. While they work to bring in as much talent as they can this year, they’re also clearly going after talent … and speed for the future.
New Jersey-based Rahmir Johnson announced on his Twitter account he had received an official scholarship offer from the Huskers. One look at Johnson’s highlight reel and it’s obvious why Scott Frost and company are interested in the back.
Not only does he have a ton of speed out of the backfield, but he can catch passes out in the flat. Once he makes those cathes, he’s off to the races.

Speaking of races, Johnson is also one of the top track speedsters in the state. While Johnson is plenty talented, Nebraska managed to be the second Big 10 team to offer.
This is despite the fact that Johnson is right in Rutgers’ backyard. Other than the Scarlet Knights, the Huskers are doing battle with mostly ACC schools.
That might be a boon to Nebraska’s efforts, considering there’s a chance his family might get to see him play if the Cornhuskers take a visit or two up to Jersey for conference tilts.

It’s obviously far too early to know who Johnson is looking at as far as favorites. It’s nice to see the Nebraska football staff getting its foot in the door. The 2019 class is likely going to be a big one with added importance since it will be Frost’s first full year class.
