Scott Frost and the new Nebraska football coaching staff aren’t wasting any time.

As if Nebraska football fans weren’t already excited about the arrival of Scott Frost, the new coaching staff is injecting a much-needed boost to recruiting at the school. Just hours after the university made the hire official, several top-notch recruits started tweeting out they had received scholarship offers.

More interesting than the players that were announcing official offers was what that said about who we know for sure has already been hired to be on Frost’s staff. The first domino fell when Adrian Martinez, a four-star quarterback recruit made his announcement.

Parker Gabriel from the Journal Star appears to be the first to notice that Martinez tagged a certain coach in his tweet. UCF quarterbacks coach and apparent new Huskers’ QB coach Mario Verduzco was tagged.

Shortly after Martinez tweeted, four-star running back recruit Jashon Corbin said he was offered too. This means that running backs coach Ryan Held appears to be coming to Lincoln as well.

The most interesting thing about Martinez and Corbin is where they are currently committed. Martinez is a Tennessee commit while Corbin is currently committed to Florida State. It appears Frost and company have no qualms about going after players on teams that currently don’t have a head coach.

Other players that have announced they’ve been offered in the last few hours include Noah Banks, Jaevontae Jean-Baptiste, and Jeremy Webb. Jean-Baptiste is a four-star outside linebacker from the state of Florida. Webb is a junior college defensive back.

After watching players like Mario Goodrich slip through the Huskers’ fingers in the last few weeks, it’s good to see the brand new staff getting after recruiting so quickly. Those kinds of actions appear to mean that Nebraska football is indeed in good hands with Scott Frost.
