The Nebraska volleyball team won yet another match in straight sets.

While the Nebraska football team is having a historically bad season, the Nebraska volleyball team is having one of its best in a long history of great seasons. On Sunday afternoon, the Huskers topped the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in straight sets, 25-8, 25-11, and 25-13.

The victory over Rutgers marked the ninth straight match win for the Cornhuskers. The straight set victory was the third consecutive straight-sets match. The team has taken straight sets in this run five out of nine matches.

With the win, John Cook’s crew is now 22-4 on the season and 15-1 in Big Ten play. The Huskers are now 15-0 at home as well. As the regular season comes down the stretch run, Nebraska will need to get some wins on the road.

Starting next weekend, the Huskers will be on the road for the next three matches before they return home for their final regular-season matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes. While the road trip to end the season will be among the longest all year, the good news is that none of the teams the Cornhuskers will square off against are among the best the B1G has to offer.

The win against Rutgers, for instance, s far from impressive on its own. The Scarlet Knights are just 5-23 on the season and 0-16 in conference. It’s the dominance of the entire season that should be getting everyone’s attention. Nebraska volleyball continues to look like a team that could make some real noise on a national scale.
