The Nebraska volleyball team won its 20th game with a straight-sets sweep of Purdue on Saturday

While the Nebraska football team was suffering yet another heartbreaking loss on Saturday, the Nebraska volleyball team was winning yet another dominating match. The Cornhuskers took down the Purdue Boilermakers in straight sets on Saturday night, thereby completing the so-called Hoosier state sweep.

The win over Purdue followed up a win over Indiana. That means the team is now 20-4 on the season. The Cornhuskers are also 13-1 in conference. The record means they have held onto a piece of first place in the Big Ten.

The good news is they’re one of the best teams in the country. The bad news is another of the best teams is sitting right next to them in Penn State.

Additional good news is that the Huskers look like a team that could win out for the rest of the regular season. It plays very few of the conference’s top teams as we rapidly move to the volleyball word’s postseason.

While the college football season isn’t quite over, it seems like a safe bet that there will be plenty of Husker fans clinging to the volleyball team. Cornhusker fans will be looking for almost any reason to avoid staring straight into the sun that is this football losing season.
