The Nebraska football team will take on Northwestern on the four year anniversary weekend of Jordan Westerkamp‘s catch.

The Nebraska football team will go up against the Wildcats looking to get a firm grip on second place in the Big Ten West. One week after a come from behind win over Purdue, the Huskers are coming in fairly confident but also banged up.

Northwestern is coming in with their own swagger after knocking off red-hot Michigan State. The Cornhuskers have their work cut out for them, because the Wildcats appear to be playing better than Nebraska at this point in the season.

Despite the fact that most people around the Big Ten are likely going to be betting on Northwestern, there are a couple of things that Nebraska can do in order to come out of Saturday victorious.

Considering the trouble Mike Riley is in, every win is of the utmost importance. With four games to go in the season, the Cornhuskers need to win at least two in order to make a bowl game. In order to guarantee a winning season, Riley and company will need to win three of four.

That is far from impossible. Only Penn State is a team that is on another level. Northwestern, Iowa and Minnesota are all teams that have a chance to beat Nebraska but have their own weaknesses too. A win on Saturday means the Big Red only needs to win one of the next three in order to go bowling.

Considering the school was down 12 to Purdue, and staring a 3-5 record in the face a week ago, heading to a bowl seems like a pretty big win. So how do they get started?
