This offer is an interesting sign for the Nebraska football team as they try to round out the 2018 class.

The Nebraska football team has apparently decided they need to go after at least one more offensive lineman for the 2018 recruiting class. Joshua Gray announced on his official Twitter account he received a scholarship offer from the Huskers on Monday night.

Gray, an offensive tackle from Rancho Cucamonga is a bit of an under the radar type player considering he’s only rated as a two-star player by 247Sports. While Gray isn’t someone who the big boys of the Big Ten or Pac 12 have gone after, he could be getting more attention in the near future.

The offensive tackle has offers from Arizona, San Diego State, and Navy among others. The Huskers are easily the most high profile school on the list. Those looking behind the scenes have to wonder if the Cornhuskers’ coaching staff has gotten some vibes that would lead them to believe they aren’t going to be landing some of their bigger targets.

This offer could also simply be the staff believing Gray is someone who is going to be getting bigger offers as fall starts to move into the winter. It’s also possible they’ve seen something that would best fit their blocking scheme that other schools haven’t recognized.

It’s hard to know exactly what the coaches are seeing since they are unable to comment on the offer. It’s also hard to know where Gray might be leaning, but it’s hard to think Nebraska football doesn’t have the inside track if he’s willing to leave the West Coast.
