Fred Hoiberg

  • Born in Lincoln, Neb.
  • Second Round Pick by the Indiana Pacers (1995)
  • 10 years in the NBA as a player (’95-’05)
  • Iowa State Head Coach (’10-’15)
  • Chicago Bulls Head Coach (’15-present)

Hoiberg finished his basketball career at Iowa State in 1995 and was drafted in the second round of that year’s NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers.

After ten years in the NBA, injuries force him to retire and take a front office job with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

in 2010, Hoiberg came back to his alma mater to replace Greg McDermott as the head coach at Iowa State.

After a .500 first season, his next four years were all 20-win seasons that included two BIg 12 tournament championships, four NCAA tournament berths and a Sweet Sixteen.

In 2015, Hoiberg left for the Chicago Bulls.

His first season resulted in a 42-40 record and the Bulls missing the playoffs.

NCAA Head Coaching Record: 115-56 (.673)

Come back home, sweet prince.

Fit for Coach: 🌽🌽🌽

This is totally dependent that the Bulls want him to leave. If they do, there’s a draw to come back home for Fred, but would that outweigh offers from better schools?
