Nebraska Basketball: 10 Candidates to Replace Tim Miles
Eric Musselman
- CBA/USBL Head Coach (β90-β97)
- NBA Assistant Coach (β98-β02)
- Golden State Warriors Head Coach (β02-β04)
- Memphis Grizzlies Assistant Coach (β04-β06)
- Sacramento Kings Head Coach (β06-β07)
- D-League Head Coach (β10-β12)
- Arizona State/LSU Assistant Coach (β12-β15)
- Nevada Head Coach (β15-present)
Musselman has been around the block many times over.
Most of his head coaching experience has been at the professional level, including time with the Golden State Warriors where he finished as runner-up for the NBA Coach of the Year Award.
During his D-League stint, Musselman was named Coach of the Year.
He would also lead the Los Angeles D-Fenders to be named the NBA D-League Developmental Champion, the title given to the team which best serves as a developmental complement to their NBA counterpart.
At Nevada, Musselman has turned in two consecutive 24-plus win seasons, a CBI championship and the first NCAA Tournament appearance for the Wolfpack in 10 years.
NCAA Head Coaching Record: 52-21 (.712)
NBA Head Coaching Record: 108-138 (.439)
One NCAA Appearance in two years
Fit for Nebraska: π½π½π½π½
Tons of experience, not so much on the NCAA level, but a rising name would make a medium sized splash with Nebraska fans.
Fit for Coach: π½π½π½
Musselman could probably land a better Power 5 job than the current hot mess that Nebraska presents. You could argue that heβs in better shape to stay at Nevada than leave for UNL.
