One of the most popular targets of the Nebraska football staff (or any staff) is Brendan “Bookie” Radley-Hiles.

He’s so well-known, in fact, that we’re just calling him Bookie now. That’s how recruits across the nation know him and it’s likely nobody calls him “Brendan” anymore save for close relations and family friends.

Now that we’ve got the formalities out of the way, let’s talk about one of the best cornerbacks in the country.

Radley-Hiles currently is part of Bradenton, Fla.’s illustrious IMG Academy. He used to be a part of the Calabasas, Calif. crew that included the likes of current Nebraska true freshmen Tristan Gebbia and Keyshawn Johnson, Jr.

Before that, he attended another national power in Las Vegas’ Bishop Gorman High School.

He visited Lincoln for Nebraska’s 2016 Red-White Spring Game, made the trip again for the final week of the Huskers’ Friday Night Lights camp and has struck up big-time relationships in Big Red country.

Not only has he bonded with head coach Mike Riley, he found a kindred spirit in the late, great Milt Tenopir.

A versatile star for Bishop Gorman and Calabasas, Radley-Hiles has provided ample offense as a receiver and savage defense as a cornerback, his projected collegiate position.

It appears that he would have every opportunity for early playing time as not only is he an elite talent, but three Nebraska cornerbacks graduate after this year (Chris Jones, Josh Kalu and Boaz Joseph).

That leaves Eric Lee and Lamar Jackson as juniors while Dicaprio Bootle, Elijah Blades and Marquel Dismuke all become sophomores.

Nebraska has a commitment from Eric Fuller who could be plugged in at the cornerback spot, but there’s talk of him potentially taking other visits.

Locking down Radley-Hiles would leave the Huskers with another major talent just in case Fuller bolts.

There’s talk that UCLA and Nebraska have become Bookie’s top two, but a cryptic tweet from his former quarterback slipped out recently.

Do the skull and crossbones point to a decision already made?

Regardless, he’s scheduled to announce on July 31. It’ll be interesting to see if that date holds firm with another trip to Lincoln for Nebraska’s upcoming Spring Game in his future.
