Well, that was fast. Immediately after the Nebraska basketball team was dismissed from the Big Ten Tournament by Penn State, athletic director Shawn Eichorst took to Twitter.
More: Don’t Give Up On Tim Miles
It appears that Eichorst has is on the side of those who feel that next year’s squad has an excellent foundation and youth that has shown enough development to give Miles perhaps one last chance.
Keep in mind the Huskers also get Anton Gill back from injury and Georgetown transfer Issac Copeland will be available for Miles to call upon as well.
Some fans were quite happy with the news.
Happy @CoachMiles is staying. Young team, good players on the way, & if he doesn't get screwed by Andrew White he wins 5-9 more this year.

Here's hoping to a Richard Pitino type of turnaround for Tim Miles and #Nebrasketball. You have the AD's support. And talent. It's time!

Others aren’t quite as…optimistic…
thanks for just clarifying that we will only and will always be a football school Shawn!

Regardless of if you’re for this decision or against it, one side will be proven right and simply put, that’s likely a large portion of what caused Miles’ retention.
Let the debate continue.
