Just call the Big Red a team of legacies as Kade Warner, son of NFL quarterback Kurt, revealed via Twitter that he will be walking on at the University of Nebraska Thursday evening.

His tweet began with “Words cannot describe the feeling. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. God is Great! GBR!”

It continued on, “I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for getting me to this point in my life. Also, I want to thank the schools that recruited me for giving me an opportunity and believing in me, as a person and a football player.

Thank you Coach Riley and the Nebraska football staff for giving me an opportunity to pursue an academic and collegiate football career at the University of Nebraska. I look forward to this chapter in my life and joining Big Red Nation! #GBR”

Warner, a 6-2, 205 pound wide receiver out of Scottsdale, Ariz. had attended a camp at the University of Arizona and also unofficially visited the Wildcats in September of 2016.

As a senior, he played ten games hauling in 83 receptions for 1,062 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 106 yards per game.

Warner owns the state’s 11-man career receptions record with 241 over three years of competition and brought in 2,892 total yards and 35 total touchdowns in that span.

Having competed in football, basketball and track and field for Desert Mountain High School, it’s now time for Warner to put on his metaphorical top hat and bow tie as he prepares for a new level of Savage Professionalism with Dr. Route a.k.a. Keith Williams.
