All of the sudden, Nebraska basketball is starting to look a lot like the 2015 Nebraska football team. Sloppy down to the final seconds, eventually contributing too little too late to the scoreboard.

Huskers head coach Tim Miles addressed the Big Red’s loss after the ball game.

"“I think that’s my biggest concern is just keeping the spirits of our players up. As a coach, this is part of the business. I’ve been a head coach a long time. I don’t know this is like 21 or 22 years or whatever it is, and you go through seasons and times like this. But at the same time I know we can compete with anybody, and I know we can compete with anybody anywhere. We’ve just got to keep teaching, keep these guys believing, and come out on top because winning can really energize you. You can’t let this define you.”"

The loss to Rutgers marks the fourth in a row for Nebraska and the second game consecutively lost by just one point as the Big Red fell to Ohio State 67-66.

Ed Morrow’s absence is obvious on the court as the Huskers are lacking his violent defensive style.

Tai Webster led the scoring charge with 14 points, bringing down three rebounds and adding two assists to the stat sheet. Glynn Watson, Jr. had 12 points of his own, dropping two three-pointers.

Evan Taylor and Michael Jacobson would both crash the boards for six rebounds apiece while scoring 10 and five points, respectively.

After opening conference play 3-0, the Big Red’s postseason opportunities are up in the air as they sit at 9-10 overall and 3-4 in Big Ten play. An NCAA tournament bid seems like a pipe dream at this point.
