Recent numbers show the Nebraska football team is among the most expensive in the country when it comes to the secondary ticket sale prices.

This basically means that when people are looking to sell tickets they purchased, and looking to sell them through a vendor like Vividseats, they are quite costly. In fact, the numbers put out by Vividseats shows the median price of tickets purchased this way currently ranks as the seventh most expensive in the country, selling for $142 a piece.

While that number might seem ridiculously expensive, it really doesn’t compare to the top two teams on this list. When talking about the secondary ticket sales market, both Notre Dame and Ohio State have passed the $200 per ticket range at $229 and $219 respectively.

Other teams that ranked ahead of Nebraska in the Top 10 are Georgia ($184) Alabama ($150), Oklahoma ($148) and Utah ($146). As you can see, most of the other teams around the Nebraska football ticket prices are very similar when taking Ohio State and Notre Dame out of the conversation.

To be clear, this isn’t a situation where the University is charging too much for a product coming off a 6-7 season. These prices reflect just how popular tickets for these teams are when they are being sold through vendors. In other words, despite all the talk over the summer about the sellout streak being in jeopardy, it appears Nebraska tickets are still among the most popular in college football.

While tickets for this season are popular in general, the Oregon game, understandably has people willing to pay through the nose for tickets. The median price for these tickets actually ranks as the 12th highest priced median ticket price of any game so far this year.

The game’s $338 median price tag ranks right up there with contests like Stanford at Notre Dame and Florida and Georgia. Two of the hottest rivalry games in sports. Bottom line? The Nebraska football team’s image may be a bit tarnished, but there are plenty of people still paying good money to see them play and that’s good for the program in the long run.
