The Nebraska football team showed us quite a bit in last week’s set of practices but what where the top takeaways from the week that included the team’s first scrimmage?

The team seems to be coming together since the death of Sam Foltz and there were quite a few positive stories coming out of camp. This is likely the make or break year for Mike Riley. If the team struggles to win games again this year, the murmurs of concern are only going to get louder.

If on the other hand, the team can look like it learned its lesson from the prior season, it might be able to surprise some folks with just how much success it has. While there is only so much you can learn from fall practices, especially the first few weeks, there were still some story points that stood out among the rest.

Read on and find out what those storylines are. Some might surprise you, others were rather obvious and slapped us all in the face. Some were good and some were bad and then there were some that were downright disastrous.

The good news is, when talking about the disastrous stuff, it’s a brand new week and we’ll hopefully be able to move on and see some change and some healing. Check out what we saw last week …
