Andrew White Rules Out Michigan State, Choosing Between Syracuse And Surprise School
Andrew White was once thought to be moving to Nebraska basketball rival Michigan State but the former Husker has now said the Spartans are not an option.
While some Husker fans are likely going to say “why should we care where Andrew White goes” I think it bears a bit of following. At the very least, it will be interesting to see where he ends up now that he’s not in the Big Ten.
I for one, am going to follow this kid’s final season because I want to see just how big a mistake he made by moving on from Nebraska. Make no mistake, I think his best chance was to stay with the Huskers and lead a team that could have been much better on paper than a year ago.
Syracuse.com reports the Orange are one potential landing spot for the one-time high school star. That shouldn’t surprise many, considering he went to Kansas at first. It will be interesting to see what sort of role Jim Boeheim would have for the guard.
Despite his leaning towards Syracuse it doesn’t appear he’s ready to choose a school just yet. While Syracuse might be the big leader, it appears his home town university in Richmond is making a run as well.
One picture currently making the rounds on social media is of White shooting around in the Spiders’ gym. This would make quite a bit of sense, if White wants to be close to home. Is it possible that also played a role in his wanting to leave the Nebraska basketball program?
There is one final school that could be in the mix, but hasn’t officially popped up yet. VCU is also in the Richmond area. If White wanted to beef up his scoring numbers, it certainly couldn’t hurt to go play for the Rams.

Whatever his decision, it would seem as though he’s almost out of time. The closer we get to the fall, the closer we get to basketball season.
