5. Stu Lantz

Stu Lantz played in the NBA from 1968 to 1976 and while he wasn’t anything close to a hall of famer, he managed to put a decent career together. Just how long ago did Lantz play in the NBA? Lantz was a member of the San Diego Rockets.

The team was based in California before it moved to Houston. While he was more of a sixth man than a starter, Lantz had some very good seasons with the Rockets including the 1970-71 season where he averaged 20.6 points per game.

In that same season, Lantz averaged five rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, making him a valuable all-around player for a team just starting out in the league. The following year Lantz’s team moved to Houston and he put up similar numbers, this time averaging just over 18 points per game.

The former Nebraska basketball player saw his numbers start to plummet in the following years as he moved to the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers. Still all, in all, Stu had a very successful run as an NBA player.
