4. His Mobility

There very little doubt that Tommy Armstrong can run when he needs to. He actually ran for over 700 yards in his sophomore season but Mike Riley and Danny Langsdorf were looking for him to become more of a passer in his Junior season.

Armstrong ended up with just 400 yards last year, though he did also score seven rushing touchdowns. So why do we think his mobility is going to make him a Heisman contender? In his last two games of the 2015 season, Riley and company seemed to cut Tommy Armstrong loose a bit more.

Against Iowa, depite the fact that the Nebraska Cornhuskers lost the game, Armstrong carried nine times for 46 yards. In the team’s bowl win he carried 10 times for 76 yards and a touchdown. Armstrong also had a 26 yard run that was one of the longest of the season.

Mike Riley and company have made comments they want to run more in 2016 and that seems like it could bode well for the dual threat QB.
