Tommy Armstrong is one of the most maligned players on the Nebraska football roster but his 2016 season could be good enough that he’ll be competing for a Heisman trophy is everything goes just right.

Yes, there are plenty of people who would likely think us nuts for believing there’s a chance Tommy Armstrong could compete for the top college football player in the Big Ten let alone college football. At the same time, Tommy now has a coach who has molded more than one NFL quarterback and raw talent that he’s managed to turn into plenty of wins for the Huskers.

Despite real struggles throwing the football at times last year, and even more problems making decisions from time to time, but we think there’s a real chance he could turn 2016 into one of the best seasons a Nebraska Cornhusker quarterback has put up in decades.
