It’s only June but Vegas is making guesses on how many wins it expects the Nebraska football team, as well as the rest of the Big Ten to log coming season.

The new over/under and odds for the Huskers, and each of the other teams in the conference and it appears at least one sportsbook believes the Nebraska football team is going to have a better year than 2015 turned out to be.

Obviously, these lines don’t actually mean the bookmakers are guessing at the win total so much as they think this is where bets will land, but it appears just over or just under 8.5 wins is the most realistic. The odds for 8.5 are coming in at -110 which means a bet of a $1 will return about 90 cents.

The same sports book did the rest of the conference and according to CBS Sports, Michigan is likely to be the best team in the conference as the over/under for the Wolverines is set with the same odds as Nebraska football got but the wins are set at 10.

The Huskers are smack dab in the middle of the conference when it comes to expected win totals, with the same number and odds as Iowa. Michigan State comes in just under them with 7.5 and Wisconsin is close behind with seven.

Northwestern and Penn State are each getting their over/under at 6.5 and Minnesota is coming in with six. Bringing up the rear in the conference is Illinois, Indiana Maryland, Purdue and Rutgers. When it comes to the team in that group who will actually win more than 4 games, it appears Maryland is on the outside looking in.

The same Vegas oddsmakers have put the odds of the Terapins hitting 5 wins at +130 meaning anyone who bets a dollar will get $1.30 back. In other words, this is a longer shot than most. For Nebraska football fans, eight wins shouldn’t seem like much of a long shot and nine wins isn’t something we should settle for but at least Las Vegas thinks the Huskers are going to be bounce back in 2016.
