Nate Gerry

3. Nate Gerry – Safety: Nate Gerry is second on the team with 27 tackles. Gerry also has two of the Huskers’ three interceptions this season.

Gerry did not have a great game against Wisconsin last season. Part of the reason why the Badgers have massacred the Nebraska Cornhuskers was due to the secondary’s inability to stop big plays.

In the past two meetings, Wisconsin had gained 581 and 539 yards rushing against the Huskers. Once the levee broke, Nebraska was never able to get back into the game. That’s why it’s important for Gerry to stop everything up the middle this weekend.

Wisconsin will test the front seven for Nebraska. They might not have success early, but they won’t shy away from the running attack. Gerry will have to play one of his best games in his career. Any missed tackles could ruin the defensive effort.

Coming into the game, the Badgers only average 167 yards per game on the ground. Meanwhile, the Huskers have limited the big plays, only giving up 85 yards rushing per game.
