Tommy Armstrong

4. Tommy Armstrong – QB: In recent weeks, the Tommy Armstrong has been the most important player on Nebraska’s team. His performance determined his status as the Huskers’ best player, but Armstrong took a huge step backwards in the loss to Illinois.

Overall, Armstrong had 21 incomplete passes, yet the Huskers led for the entire game. Well, until the final nine seconds. Still, if it wasn’t for a bad decision by the Nebraska Cornhuskers, they would have won a game with Armstrong only completing 10 passes.

It will be interesting to see how Armstrong bounces back from the Huskers’ third heartbreaking loss of the season. The Big Ten West title is still on the line, but it will be over if Nebraska loses their second home game of the season.

Will Tommy Armstrong be able to make critical plays down the stretch? Against Southern Miss, Armstrong carried the Huskers to victory on their second to last drive. However, Armstrong had a chance to make plays in all three losses, but came up short. In two of those games, Nebraska had the lead with the ball.

If it comes down to late game situations, let’s hope the Huskers make the right decisions this time.
