Nate Gerry

2. Nate Gerry – Safety: Yes, we are looking at Nate Gerry in this spot. Can he help the Huskers in a dominant run game, while making plays on the back-end of the defense? Gerry has to be everywhere on Saturday.

He has Nebraska’s only two interceptions this year, and both of them were huge plays. Gerry is also fourth on the team in tackles. However, three of the top four players are in the defensive backfield. Some of the tackles are good, and some of them are due to big plays in the passing game.

Gerry has to make a stamp on this game early. If Nebraska gets a lead, as they’ve done in the previous two games, Gerry might have help the corners in the passing game. As stated previously, Nebraska gives up 346 yards through the air. One way to stop the aerial attack is to take the ball away, and cause multiple turnovers.
