It’s a tale of 3 Huskers: 1 of them is still undefeated, 1 of them bounced back and 1 of them pulled off the upset! Huskers hit the mat Sunday at noon at the Devaney Center against Rutgers. The grapplers were just coming off a meet on Friday against Illinois having won 22-9. The Rutgers final score was   leaving the Huskers at 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Big Ten.

The Upset: Husker Anthony Abidin, weighing in at 141 pounds upset No. 7 ranked Anthony Ashnault. It went down to the wire as it was tied up late in the 3rd period and as the clock ticked under 30 seconds Abidin scored a take down for 2 points to win the match 5-3.

The Bounce Back: After suffering a loss at the Illinois meet, All-American James Green got back on track defeating Anthony Perrotti 11-4. The good sized crowd on hand cheered loudly as they raised his arm in victory. There was a great fan turnout as former Husker and medalist Jordan Burroughs was on hand for a training session with a group of kids prior to the dual.
