The Husker Volleyball team is picking up a middle blocker from LSU! (Way to GEAUX Huskers!) Briana Holman elected to transfer to Nebraska afer two years down south thus serving up a big blow to the Tigers and what some are calling “it’s biggest loss of the year.” Holman led LSU in blocks and kills both of the years she played for Coach Fran Flory. She started all 29 matches for the Tigers in her 2nd year with the team.

The new Husker was busy in her first two seasons down in Baton Rouge becoming the first player since 2010 to earn over 400 kills in a single season, and ending the year with 445. She was also on the 2014 Preseason All-SEC list and a 2014 All- SEC team member, along with lots of other achievements. LSU declined comment on the situation but they did sign two other middle blockers to their roster.
Ms. Holman was on campus Jan. 03 to check out campus and the facilities. She even managed time to watch the Lady Huskers play some basketball against Maryland.

At a lanky 6′ 1″ and from Desoto, Texas, Briana is going to continue her major in Sociology. Her addition to UNL is exciting news for a Husker Volleyball team that only graduated one senior (Mary Pohlmiller) and will be returning the rest of the ladies. Don’t forget that they ended their season in Seattle with a heartbreaking loss to BYU in the Elite 8. LSU Tigers finished their season losing to Oregon in the 2nd round of the tournament, missing the Sweet 16.

Briana Holman will join up with the other Husker Middle Blocker signee Mikaela Foecke who comes in next year (Gatorade National Player of the Year).
