By Kelli Anne
It’s going to be dang near impossible to replace Husker running back favorite Ameer Abdullah. But we said the same thing about replacing Rex Burhkead. Running backs already in the workhorse paddock include Imani Cross, Terrell Newby, Adam Taylor and Mikale Wilbon.

We all know that it’s probably the most brutal position on a college football team and staying healthy is a huge part of the failure or success of a run heavy team. We now know Coach Ron Brown won’t be back but Oregon State’s programs have leaned toward getting running backs who can catch the ball and make some yards after the catch (YAC). Reggie Davis was hired to take over RB coaching.
This Mike Riley’s Running backs shopping list: Jordan Cronkite, Bradrick Shaw and Ke’Shawn Vaughn. they come from the Southeast. Cronkite and Vaughn may visit in January.
Cronkite has W VA, Ohio St, South Carolina and Florida on his short list. He has a concern of not being the biggest back in the field of competition at whatever school he attends. He is 5′ 11″ and lives in Miami, Florida. He has offers from Louisville, Notre Dame, W Va & Texas so far in addition to the Dec. 21 offer from Nebraska. Jordan is a 3-star recruit.
Ke’Shawn Vaughn is from Nashville, Tennessee, and Louisville is targeting this three star recruit hard. He’s 5′ 10″ and 210 lbs. and had been considering Ohio St as well but canceled his visit. He indicated in a past twitter post that Purdue is still high on his list. Huskers offered him on Dec. 21st as well. In an article by Anna Hickey with Scout.com Vaughn said, “Playing time is important to me and so is finding a family environment. ” He is set to visit Notre Dame in January. Bradrick Shaw is the biggest of the three star recruit crew at 6′ 1″ and 205 pounds. he’s a big and strong back not afraid to lower his shoulder and hammer on some defenses. He has visited Wisconsin and yes, would fit well into their program but he’s also got Vandy, Minnesota, and South Carolina on his radar. He was offered by Nebraska on Dec. 19th. According to 247 Sports his biggest interest is in Vanderbilt but surely he’ll realize that no one looks good in black and gold. Those pesky Gophers also offered him a scholarship too.
