Husker Injury report and Weather update for Holiday Bowl

It’s the last Husker game of the season. If you missed our analysis check out the EDGE report. I think the season really flew by this year. Here’s what the beautiful  weather will be Saturday night in San Diego.

Huskers will be enjoying perfect football weather conditions with a high of 65 during the day to enjoy tailgating activities and  according to AccuWeather reporting:

RealFeel: 55 degrees

Humidity: 45%

Cloud Cover: 26% Winds: 2 mph out of the NE

Husker Equipment probably captured the weather best.

The injury report reads much like the walking dead. I think the MVP of this year is the training staff. Word on the street is that Ameer Abdullah is looking like he used to with the much needed time off. Kenny Bell is clear as a bell following his concussion issues. Randy Gregory is IN and looking forward to some real playing time after sitting out in the Iowa game. Here’s the bad news….

More from Husker Corner

Imani Cross RB – out after knee surgery before Christmas (Newby will be getting the ball in his absence as the back up back)

David Santos LB – Questionable (I would say don’t count on him being in the game)

Marcus Newby LB – upgraded to probable for Saturday (already thin at the LB spot)

Trevor Roach LB – listed as Questionable (hmmm….on the fence with him, not sure based on reports)

As previously reported OL Ryne Reeves, Zach Sterup and Mark Pelini are all OUT! They’ve decided to put Thurston as the center and Beck seemed to be pleased with how things are progressing.

Regardless of all those injuries, if Armstrong can not turn over the ball and make good decisions, I think our CB & DBs can keep us in the game. I’m counting on De’Mornay Pierson-El for something flashy as well. They will bother the receivers and Gregory can bother their QB and the HUSKERS can come home with a VICTORY! Enjoy the sunshine and GO BIG RED!!!
