We know the Husker Volleyball season is over since they did not advance to the Final Four. What we also know is that we are losing only one Senior, Mary Pollmiller, to a team that accomplished more than was expected against a very tough schedule. Next year will be another exciting year for the ladies and fans. Well done!
We learned that the Husker Mens’ Basketball needs to clean up their tendency to turnover the ball at critical times during the game. We also know that several media sources reported people leaving the game before the end of the double overtime. I don’t think Husker fans are losing interest. I’m chalking it up to the lateness of the hour for double overtime, perhaps babysitters needing to be relieved of duty, or maybe fans were going to a local establishment to watch the Husker Volleyball team. Regardless, I’m going to remain optimistic on the fans (as always) and that Coach Miles will get them back to cleaner play and better results.

Earlier in the day the Ladies’ Basketball team won over Bakersfield with a score of 54-45 improving to 9-1 on the season. They now have the week off to study for Finals week. Way to go HUSKER Ladies!
We know there is a little bright spot in the Husker Wrestlers’ loss to the Badgers this weekend, and that is that our current reigning number 1 in the nation, 174 lb. Robert Kokesh is still undefeated at 15-0. He won the match with a 16-5 decision beating out Frank Cousins. Ranked Huskers Tim Lambert, Anthony Abidin and James Green did win their matches but the rest of the grapplers struggled and ended up with a team score of 14 points to Wisconsin’s 23.

Husker Football team is well underway practicing for the Bowl game. They better make a shopping list because it’s tradition that they also garner a $445 dollar shopping card to Best Buy during their trip to San Diego Holiday Bowl. Recruiting news is still abundant as Coach Riley tweeted updates and photos with Avery Anderson and Eric Lee Jr. most recently. I like his energy and use of social media. It’s a refreshing change.
Had a great time in Colorado with @AveryAnderson1 and @elee22_21! Next stop, HUGE stop, Missouri x2!!! #GBR

It’s also time to start chewing through the Bowl game schedule. Our friends at Fansided.com have put together quite an assessment of the competition. In the meantime, get your HUSKER gifts and share them with those you love. After all, doesn’t everyone want more Husker gear? GO BIG RED!
